Youth Group at FUGE Camp June 2012

Youth Group at Fuge Camp - June 2011

The camp was in one word, “Awesome” this summer! Both FUGE Camp for the older students and South Mountain Baptist Camp for the younger kids turned out to be a wonderful experience. Our prayers before camp were simply to grow closer to God and also to each other. God answered both of these requests. There were a total of 12 salvation decisions and many other commitments during both weeks. We definitely grew closer together as a youth group and as leaders. God is definitely in the prayer answering business. One of the highlights of the day was at the beginning, where we individually spent quiet time with the Lord. All of the youth could be found scattered around the camp with their bibles opened, communicating with God. This was a special time to open up our day with guidance and peace. It was totally the most important part of the day and it really set us off on the right foot each and every day. I would have to say that spending quiet time with God was the greatest thing that I learned while going to both FUGE Camp and South Mountain Baptist Camp. Stepping out in your day after the first meeting with your Creator made my day so much better. God and His Words are truly a reservoir of encouragement and joy! In FUGE Camp we spent our quiet times studying the relationship between Jesus and Peter. The main verse we emphasized was Matthew 22:37-39, where Jesus laid out the greatest commandment; “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.” Our FUGE Camp week focused on relationships. We all enjoyed the times of worship at night. Our camp pastor led us to a greater understanding of how our relationships should be; with the lost, with other believers, with people who hurt us, with our friends and family, with authority, and most importantly with our Savior. We attended daily group bible studies and ended our day with Church Group devotions. Another special part of our day was the time that we spent in our dorms. You could find the boys hanging out and wrestling while the girls dug in for some deep conversation. All of us who participated would like to thank each and every one of this church that prayed for us during these two weeks and gave financially. Your prayers were answered and we praise God!
